The Face Shop Tint-in-oil
The Face Shop Tint-in-oil (C$15) is a lightweight oil with no stick and gives your lips a nice, juicy shine. It contains a surprising amount of good-for-you ingredients such as sweet almond oil, rosemary leaf oil, matricaria flower oil, lavender oil, and rose flower oil.
These oils cause the product to be very slippery, so the lip oil will transfer to anything and everything your lips touch, but your lips will feel moisturized and comfortable. It is so light that if you rub your lips together, it will move and slide. For that reason, this lip tint will feather outside your lip lines if you are not careful, but since the colour selection is so faint, it will not be noticeable.
The Face Shop Tint-in-Oil smells faintly like artificial peach, very similar to the popular Sweet Peach Collection from Too Faced. I really like the smell of this and enjoy reapplying it because of the fruity scent.
I have the shade 03 Purple Kiss, which is a bright pink. But since the oil is very sheer, it ends up looking very natural on the lips. When it is first applied, it will look nearly clear until 1-2 minutes later, and you will see the colour start to develop. There are also two other colours – one more orange, and the other red.
Unfortunately, The Face Shop Tint-in-Oil is not buildable because it will just spread if you try to put another layer on top, so if you like statement lip colours, you may not like The Face Shop Tint-in-oil.
If you want the tint-in-oil to stain, you will need to be careful with eating and drinking for at least ten minutes. But after that, the staying power of the tint will last for at least 4-5 hours through eating and drinking.
Overall, the packaging for the Tint-in-Oil is nothing special, but it is functional. The applicator is shaped like a teardrop with a hole in the middle, which allows it to hold more product. Working with applicators like this one was first seen on the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte gloss, which many people said they enjoyed the packaging of.
