Sephora Black Magic Makeup Remover Cloths
Hi all! Sorry for the lack of posts lately…exams took over my life. But I’m back with a review of a product that is new to me – makeup remover cloths. The Makeup Eraser was the first to come out with something like it. While the idea of a reusable makeup wipe intrigued me, $24 for a piece of cloth seemed pretty steep to me. So when Sephora came out with their own version, selling two cloths for $15, I thought it’d be a good investment if it meant that I would be saving money on makeup remover wipes.
These cloths feel like the softest teddy bear in Target that everyone can’t help but touch when they pass by it. It feels really soft on the skin, and to be honest, I could rub that cloth on my face all day because of how nice it feels.
Two cloths come in a little clear zip lock pouch, which makes them very easy to travel with! The size of each cloth is a little wider than my hand.
How it works:
All you need to do is thoroughly soak the cloth in water and rub the cloth in circular motions on your face until all your makeup melts off. To test this product out, I put on a full face of makeup which included a full coverage foundation, concealer, powder, brow pomade, gel eyeliner, and waterproof mascara, to list a few), To my surprise, the Sephora Makeup Remover cloths took off all of my face makeup, leaving behind little traces of eyeliner and mascara . As you can see in the photo below, the remaining makeup is barely noticeable (for some of you, it may not look like I have mascara residue, but trust me, my lashes don’t look that fabulous when they’re bare naked), and besides, none of my other typical cleansers can take off my waterproof mascara other than my oil-based makeup remover. After using it, I hang it up on a hook in my bathroom to let it dry.
After my first time using the black version of the makeup remover cloth, I did see some tiny black fuzzies on my hand; however, I haven’t noticed anything like that ever since I washed it.
I use this 4-5 times before I throw it in the washing machine. So I do sometimes feel like I’m rubbing dirt and bacteria on my face that has been cumulated on the cloth from previous uses. This is why I only use this cloth right before I step into the shower at night, so that as I continue with my nighttime skincare routine, any dirt that has recently been transferred onto my face would be gotten rid of. And when I’m just taking off my makeup right when I come home from school, I resort to my Garnier Micellar water.
Something that may not be a con, but I noticed that these cloths take about 6-8 hours to fully dry (this may be different depending on where you live) I only use these once a day, on the days that I wear makeup, so this is not an issue for me.
I can see myself using the Sephora Black Magic Makeup Remover Cloths for years to come! I love the idea of having a more eco-friendly, but still easy way to take off my makeup every night. I’m hoping that this will help me save a little bit of money here and there on makeup remover cleansers in the long run.
